Science Demonstration: Sonar Mapping – Part 4: Creating a Science Fair Project
In the previous articles in this series, you learned some background information about sonar mapping and echo location, collected some data, and turned that data into a picture of the ocean floor. This article will provide some information about turning that demonstration into a science fair project.

Science Demonstration: Sonar Mapping – Part 3: Turning Your Data Into a Picture
Yesterday’s article described how to simulate collecting data for sonar mapping by echo location. In today’s article, you will learn how to turn that data into a picture of the ocean floor.

Science Demonstration: Sonar Mapping – Part 2: Pinging
Yesterday’s article discussed some background information related to sonar mapping and echo location. Today’s article will describe a pinging demonstration. This will simulate what happens when a vessel sends out pings to map the ocean floor.

Science Demonstration: Sonar Mapping
This series of articles and demonstrations shows how sonar mapping and echo-location are used to map the ocean floor. This concept could be used as an enrichment in a science program or a science class. It could also be used as a science fair project.
